All dogs are susceptible to catching Lymphoma it does not matter the breed or age. It is important that you know the symptoms of Lymphoma in order to get appropriate help for your pet. When your dog shows symptoms of lymphoma should get the pet into the Veterinarian soon as possible. You can have your dog treated in order to prevent the cancer from spreading. Lymphoma is a cancer that is malignant and affects the lymphoid system.

The lymphoid is the dog’s immune system that fights off infectious viruses and bacteria. When this is affected, the animal needs prescribed treatment that only a Veterinarian is able to do. Normally Lymphoma is found in the animal’s stomach as a gastrointestinal problem. The lymph nodes are located in the animal’s stomach, intestine, and liver. The reason that a pet develops this disease is not known but there are treatments that can help to give the animal a longer life span.

There is a theory that is held that dogs develop Lymphoma because of the environment or contact with certain pesticides but this has not been proven as the reason to catch Lymphoma.. Some of the breeds that are most likely to develop Lymphoma are Golden Retrievers, Rottweiler’s, and Scottish terriers. Other breeds of dogs have developed Lymphoma so if you feel that your dog might be showing symptoms you should take the pet to the Veterinarian for a checkup. The symptoms to watch for are the dogs glands are swollen in the neck, shoulder, and knee areas.  You might be able to detect it by sight but you can feel the glands when they are swollen by touch.
