Formal Wear for Dogs

Dog TuxedosIf you loved the idea of having your own pet wedding, or at least maybe including your best friend in your own nuptials, then I have found some great places for you to find Fido's formal wear. Some of this stuff is too doggone adorable!

Whether your furry friend needs a new outfit for a special occasion such as a birthday, or has to conform to the dress code of your wedding,  believe it or not (I know you believe it!) there are plenty of websites that offer formal clothing for dogs of all sizes.

Brides-to-be can now add their beloved furry friends to their wedding party in high style, wearing the latest couture creations.  There is also the possibility of having multiple pets involved in the ceremony, with specialist outfits that incorporate ring cushions or pouches, baskets of petals or small bouquets.

RingbearerOf course, if you decide to try this, you should probably make sure this will be accepted at your individual wedding location. Some chapels, churches, and other wedding locations may not be as thrilled by the idea of animals in the aisle as you are.  Once you have received the go ahead from the venue, you can proceed to begin your search for formal wear and plan your pet's role in your special day.

 

Perhaps Rover would be a great ring bearer? Just wrap a ring pillow, like this one from My Pet Haven, around his mid section and hope he can be trained to do his part at the altar. There are also ringbearer cushions available which can be fastened to dogs' heads.

I suppose the worst thing that could happen would go something like this: "Great! A new chew toy! How do I get this off? Grrrr...Almost got it...Ahhhhh! There we go! Hmph! That was a weird way to give me a treat."

  

Making Memories and More and My Pet Pleasures also have some adorable tuxedos, dresses and bows in a variety of styles and colors if an additional bridesmaid or groomsman is what you are looking for. These websites have plenty of formal wear options that should suit the needs of even the most discriminating attendants.  I was surprised at how affordable a lot of these accessories are, although I am sure that there are some high end boutiques in Miami and LA where Paris etc buy their dog clothes!

Top Hat and TailsMy West Highland Terrier loves to dress up, and gets so excited when he sees his sweaters come out for Christmas.  He doesn't have any pending wedding invites at the moment,  but he does have a birthday party to go to in June, perhaps I can get him a tux for that!  I particularly love the hat.
